Yucca schidigera (Mojave yucca, Spanish Dagger) is a flowering, always green plant. It is domesticated in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts in southeastern California, southern Nevada. Its appearance resembles a palm tree with a coarse and short trunk and with leaves in the shape of a dagger or sword. The flowers in the shape of a bell, after blooming into the shape of a pyramid, give off a sweet scent at night. For centuries, her natives have shown respect and considered it a “tree of life.” A small amount of saponin contains peas, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and oats.

Yacca contains saponin, which is converted in the human body to a harmless sapogenin, which acts as a natural soap.
